UPDATE: As many of you know, Dave (the owner of our company) suffered a broken femoral neck injury from an ebike accident in early May. After spending three weeks in the hospital, he came home on May 21st, took the first few days off to acclimate to wheelchair and walker use, before attempting to simply pick up where he left off. At the time, he had 52 orders on his desk, with more orders coming in daily. It’s now been a little more than two weeks, and between in-home physical therapy, doctor’s appointments, and not being able to sit for more than an hour at a time due to the pain, the recovery process isn’t going nearly as well as planned.
Dave does all of our layouts, and out of the 52 he originally had on his desk, he’s only managed to finish 5 (there are now more than 74 orders). At this rate, it will be more than a month to get caught up. To make matters worse, the pain medication makes him feel “loopy” and he strained his lower back this past weekend getting into a car. For those of you who know Dave, he’s an extreme workaholic, typically putting in 15-18 hour days. We’ve convinced him that his body is telling him to relax right now, and work on recovering to full strength rather than going through the stress of being this far behind and spending 2 hours on his laptop each day trying to respond to status inquiries.
